Warehouse Mobile App Delivers Flexibility and Adaptabilibty at Beak & Johnston
Feb 19 2018
Food processing company, Beak & Johnston, is now live on ComActivity’s WarehouseACTION and Infor’s M3 V13.2.
Beak & Johnston is currently Australia’s largest supplier of fresh soups and ready-made meals. With the huge growth that Beak & Johnston have been experiencing over the last ten years, the company has been investing in its IT systems, including the implementation of M3. Continued expansion and the planned opening of a new facility at Arndell Park necessitated an upgrade of M3 10.1 and implementation of a new warehouse mobility solution, all within in a tight four-month schedule.
ComActivity’s WarehouseACTION was selected as the new mobility software because it offers adaptability to business requirements, such as picking list views grouped by items rather than customer orders, and the ability to sort on any column with a single touch. WarehouseACTION also facilitates functionality driven by standard M3 configuration; i.e. location and item behaviour. Another important requirement for Beak & Johnston was the facility for seamless upgrades to WarehouseACTION client & server software for their 24/7 operating environment.
Implementing ComActivity’s WarehouseACTION mobile application, together with the latest transport updates in M3 V13.2, allowed Beak & Johnston to improve transport processing and warehouse efficiency. The constraints on the schedule were challenging but ComActivity Project Manager, Diane Spiers, attributes much of the success to an early decision to speed up the design process by using only standardised M3 business processes.
A huge team effort by ComActivity and Beak & Johnston’s project members resulted in a successfully upgrade to M3 V13.2 in time for the Arndell Park deadline. WarehouseACTION is now running live for 15 users, with an expected roll out to around 40 users over the next twelve months.
