SOA - which stands for Services Oriented Architecture- provides a powerful way to re-use these common services again and again.
SOA is an approach to developing business systems that avoids unecessary duplication by re-using “services” wherever required. Services are the elemental building blocks of business applications. For example, during a Credit Approval application, a credit check might occur several times, with different criteria. Automation through SOA streamlines the process by making the “service” – the credit check, in this case – repeatable. Any application in the system could also call on this service.
What is SOA?
